Supported formats: MP3, WAV, MP4, FLAC, WEBM, M4A

Subtitles make your videos accessible, watchable on mute and easier to find in search. Writing them by hand takes many times the length of the recording — our subtitle generator does it automatically. Upload an MP3, MP4, WAV, FLAC, WEBM or M4A file, and the speech is transcribed with per-line timestamps and packaged as a standard SRT file, with WebVTT (VTT) available at the click of a button.

SRT works with virtually everything: YouTube, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut, VLC and most social platforms accept it directly. VTT is the native format for HTML5 video players on the web. You get both from the same conversion, so you never have to convert between formats yourself.

Subtitles come with every transcription on the Classic engine — even the free trial without sign-up: upload a file, and the SRT and VTT download buttons appear right next to your transcript. A free account adds more transcription time, speaker detection and a history that keeps your subtitle files available for later.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which subtitle formats can I download?
SRT (SubRip) and VTT (WebVTT). SRT is accepted by YouTube and all major video editors; VTT is the standard for HTML5 web players. Both come from the same conversion.
Is the subtitle generator free?
Yes — your first conversion works without any sign-up and includes the SRT/VTT downloads (we transcribe the first 3 minutes of your file for free). A free account gives you more transcription time, and you can buy additional hours without a subscription.
How accurate are the timestamps?
Timestamps come directly from the speech recognition engine, aligned per line. For clear recordings they are accurate to fractions of a second.
Can I generate subtitles in languages other than English?
Yes — transcription supports 30+ languages, and auto-detect picks the language for you if you are not sure.
Does it work with video files?
Yes. Upload MP4 or WEBM directly — the audio track is extracted and transcribed, and the subtitles match the video timeline.
Are my files kept private?
Files are processed only to create your transcript, and you control retention: your account settings let you auto-delete transcripts after 7, 30 or 90 days.
