Spanish accents and regional variants we handle
Spanish is remarkably consistent in writing but varies a lot in pronunciation. European (Castilian) Spanish uses the distinction where "c" and "z" are pronounced /θ/ ("th"), while most of Latin America uses seseo, pronouncing them as "s". ConvertSpeech handles both, along with Mexican, Caribbean, Andean, Chilean and other accents.
Rioplatense Spanish, spoken around Buenos Aires and Montevideo, is distinctive for voseo (using "vos" instead of "tú") and for pronouncing "ll" and "y" with a "sh" sound. These regional features transcribe well when the audio is clear. As with any language, the biggest factor in accuracy is recording quality, not the specific accent.
