Netherlands Dutch and Flemish
The Dutch of the Netherlands and the Flemish of Belgium are the same language with different accents and some vocabulary. Flemish tends to have a softer "g" and its own everyday expressions, while both share the same standard written form. ConvertSpeech handles standard Dutch from both regions.
As with any language, clear audio matters more than the accent. Strongly regional dialects are harder for any automatic system, so the most reliable transcripts come from speakers using standard Dutch with a clean recording.
Tips for accurate Dutch transcription
- Record with a good microphone and minimal background noise for the best accuracy.
- Keep the language set to Dutch rather than auto-detect when you know the recording is Dutch.
- One speaker at a time transcribes best; overlapping speech reduces accuracy.
- For interviews, enable speaker detection (a free registered feature) to label each speaker.
